Consumer heaven

I think one of the most amazing stores I have ever been into has to be Harrod’s in London.  It prides itself on being able to procure anything at all, for anyone at all, for a price!
That was until today when we ventured in Ka De We.  Being that it was a lazy, wet Saturday, what else do you do but wander out of your hotel, situated in the shopping strip in West Berlin, stroll down a few metres and take shelter in the biggest department store in all of Europe.
This place has to be seen to be believed! Ka De We stands for Kaufhaus des Westens (Department Store of the West). It houses over three million products.  Daddy was in absolute awe on the IT and electronics floor.  Bose have their own dedicated department complete with their own theatre –  in order to experience all that is Bose! It’s food hall puts Harrod’s to shame – 1800 cheeses, 1400 breads and pastries, 2000 cold meats – there is nothing this place doesn’t have! Set over 8 floors, it is a true dedication to all that is consumer heaven!
Walking into the central atrium alone, we were treated to the most magnificent Winter Christmas Wonderland I have ever seen.  Despite photographs not being allowed – people were snapping left, right and centre.  It was just a visual masterpiece and definitely worth seeing.

Tomorrow, we promise to do something more erudite!
